INFOCUS Celebrates St. Francis Xavier feast

San Francisco Dec 4, 2007: The INFOCUS group, the Indian Christian community of the greater San Francisco Bay area celebrated Feast of St. Francis Xavier at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, San Jose, CA. The mass started with a procession by singing Konkani hymns.

The mass was celebrated by Fr. George Aranha. A large crowd gathered for the service. Children had taken the initiative in the service with choir and reading.

As a tradition of INFOCUS, the Mother Mary statue was handed over to another family. Each family take turns every month to keep it at their house. The coordinator of INFOCUS Cresentia Lobo thanked the gathering and announced the forthcoming get-together.

The mass was followed by a luncheon at the church hall. People enjoyed over 25 varieties of delicious Indian food prepared by themselves.

As a great attraction and symbol of Christmas, Santa Clause arrived and cheered the crowd. Santa gave away gifts to children and they enjoyed taking pictures with him.

While the crowd was enjoying the Christmas music and some could not stop tapping their feet, the Mangaloren Baila dance brought everyone onto the dance floor. The whole crowd enjoyed the dancing and singing the Baila Boom!
